Boxing legend Mike Tyson has revealed that tennis has had a very positive impact on his daughter Milan as he is thrilled to see her transform into a self-confident person. Tyson, considered one of the greatest athletes in the history of the sport, has fallen in love with tennis in recent years.
“It broadened my horizons, and I am so grateful to be participating and meeting everyone. It changed our lives,” Tyson said at Tennis365. “Our whole lives have changed because of tennis. I thought we were doing well and everything, and all we were doing was making money, but that’s no bigger than my daughter playing tennis.
It’s bigger than everything in our lives right now. I see her getting past something she wouldn’t have had if she hadn’t been in tennis. She has confidence. At the age of 11/12, she’s confident in herself.”
Tyson on the discipline his daughter has developed
Tyson’s daughter closes in on becoming a professional tennis player one day. According to Tyson, Milan developed a very strict discipline and had a strong work ethic. Tyson was known as an athlete who was always striving for greatness.
Judging by his words, his daughter is exactly the same. “She’s disciplined on her own. She gets up, prepares her meals, showers, and goes to the gym every day at 7 or 8 a.m. She stays there until 4 p.m.,” Tyson added.
She is very hardworking and wants to do it. I am so proud to have someone in my family who understands that sometimes things just don’t go your way. That’s what life is all about, sometimes things just don’t go your way as you deal with situations and misfortunes.”
Meanwhile, Tyson’s favorite player is 21-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic. When asked why, Tyson explained that he loves Djokovic because he is a “real fighter”.
